Dubai continues to redesign the way of living in the city. The city is now creating the first forest district by the Sea, after transforming deserts and islands into skylines and landmarks. Walking under shade canopies, the sounds of crashing waves, and the fresher air in a city reputed for being utopian in its future endeavours.

It was created by BEYOND Developments and is found in Dubai Maritime City, and maintained by risk-driven planning and value-based architecture.
The project will suit the Dubai key long-term strategies, such as Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategy, and D33 Economic Agenda--connecting sustainability to the urban environment.
It represents a novel type of urban development in which ecology, design, and well-being are not discursive and peripheral. The cities of tomorrow will certainly be characterised by how sensitive they are to their people, the environment, and the experience, as Adil Taqi, CEO of BEYOND Developments, stated. A place where ecology, design, and day-to-day life will be bridged and divided with purpose.
The Forest District by the Sea is not constructed as a new entertainment facility but with a view to permanence. All aspects, including the selection of native trees that can be cultivated in the Dubai climate, to the development of low-maintenance green corridors, are geared towards sustainability. This lessens dependence on intensive irrigation or artificial maintenance, so the district can support itself naturally without much or any artificial maintenance.
At the centre of the vision is water and energy management. In the DNA of the district, advanced recycling technologies, intelligent irrigation, and energy efficiency infrastructures are incorporated. The idea is to reduce the ecological footprint and maximise the livability, a feat that is hard to achieve in urban growth. Forest District shows that the notion of sustainability is not a backlash but a leading force of economic, social, and even cultural development.
The Forest District by the Sea changes the meaning of living in Dubai. Rather than having to rouse up against concrete and glass, the residents get to enter the realm of shaded walkways, wooded gardens, and sea winds. Its design makes all the home and open spaces aesthetically and physically linked to nature. It can be jogging in the morning under the cool shade of trees or an evening walk admiring the coastline: nature becomes an inseparable part of the routine.
The process is health-conscious. The decks and slender roads are covered with treetops to embrace the nature of forests. Green cycling trails help residents to be active in their cool, shaded surroundings. Native trees are also creating natural, comfortable places as the density of the trees improves air quality, and passive cooling reduces urban heat.
