If you thought the Eid Al-Fitr weekend went by too quickly, there's good news: Eid Al Adha 2024, the UAE's next official holiday, is approaching and is expected to be a long weekend! Mark your calendars, prepare to maximise your time off, and anticipate a generous 5-days getaway. It's the ideal chance to make plans and take a well-earned vacation.

When Arafat Day falls on Sunday, June 16, 2024, UAE workers will have five days of consecutive holidays. This means that Eid al-Adha begins on Monday, June 17, and there will be two more holiday days on Tuesday, June 18 and Wednesday, June 19. With the weekend included, that's a five-day break to plan. Additionally, employees can extend the holiday to 9 days by strategically using just 2 days of annual leave.

The Emirates Astronomy Society head, Ibrahim Al Jarwan, has forecasted that Tashriq will conclude on Thursday, June 20 and that the Hajj season will come to a close. The Islamic holiday of Eid Al Adha, which honours the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to Allah, is started in motion by this pronouncement. Following Islamic custom, Prophet Ibrahim was ready to offer his son Ishmail as a sacrifice out of devotion, but Allah intervened and supplied a lamb in its stead.
