Guests and residents in the United Arab Emirates now know about this year’s Eid Al Adha dates. Following the sighting of the moon, a 4-day public holiday will enable all UAE employees to relax, spend time with loved ones, and reflect spiritually.

Official Eid Al Adha 2025 Dates are Confirmed

The UAE has announced that Dhu Al Hijjah for 2025 begins on Wednesday, May 28, following the sighting of the moon on Tuesday evening. It was confirmed that Eid Al Adha will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, in keeping with the usual Islamic method of celebrating on the 10th of Dhu Al Hijjah.

Muslims everywhere will celebrate the Arafat Day on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Today marks the second day of Hajj, a day considered one of the most sacred by Muslims.

Enjoy Long Weekend: A 4-Day Celebration

It’s great news for UAE residents – predictions show that Eid Al Adha will fall over the days beginning Thursday, June 5, and running through Sunday, June 8 in 2025. You are now eligible for many things to do during Eid Al Adha. This long weekend allows people at home to spend quality time with their families or celebrate in their way.

The holiday schedule breaks down as follows:

  • Thursday, June 5: Arafat Day (Public Holiday)
  • Friday, June 6: Eid Al Adha (Public Holiday)
  • Saturday-Sunday, June 7-8: Regular weekend
  • Monday, June 9: Return to work

Why is this day called the Festival of Sacrifice?

Many Muslims commemorate Eid al-Adha as the 'Feast of Sacrifice.' The reason Muslims pick Prophet Abraham is that he was always loyal to Allah and never wavered. Each year, Muslims who perform the Hajj gather together in prayer, demonstrating kindness and generosity.

At Eid Al Adha, people in the UAE gather at mosques, exchange gifts, share meals, sacrifice animals in the name of Almighty God, and lend a helping hand to one another.

Arafat Day: A Day of Spiritual Significance

For millions of Muslims, Arafat Day is the chief occasion during the Hajj. Now, while at Mount Arafat and the Plain of Arafat in Mecca, people gathered on pilgrimage remember what Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) told them in his famous speech. Muslims who may not attend the Hajj for any reason pray, fast, and seriously consider their religious beliefs on Arafat Day.

All UAE citizens observe Arafat Day by praying, reflecting, and spending time with their families.

How to celebrate Eid Al Adha 2025?

Thanks to the Eid Al Adha holiday date in 2025, UAE residents can now decide on their celebrations. Having a 4-day long weekend opens up many great opportunities to have fun and spend time with family.

If you love traveling, you can see parts of your country or take trips abroad to enjoy the long holiday. It is expected that more people will book summer travel packages and hotels during this time.
