The strategic location of Dubai South is right next to the Al Maktoum Airport and a stone’s throw to the Expo City, a huge advantage in both lifestyle and business. Being near such large highways as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) and Emirates Road (E611), it is easy to commute to Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali, or any other part of Dubai. It is also a good choice among regular commuters and the logistics people because of its location. With the city spreading to the south, this neighbourhood is turning into more of a hub connection-wise rather than an outpost of the periphery, hence the area is growing into an increasingly viable place to live, work and invest.
Dubai South is also constructed on the ground level incorporating modern planning with smart infrastructure. It is a much more organised area than the older regions of the city because it has wide roads, specific green zones, residential, commercial, or logistic quarters.

Dubai South is still in the early phases of public transport. As opposed to the central part of Dubai, where metro stations and bus routes are good, it is somehow deprived of such services because it fully depends on either personal cars or cabs. Metro stations are rather few and far apart, and buses have no large coverage or frequency. This may be a bother to residents who do not own cars or use environmentally friendly transport. Though new connectivity routes will be set in the future, until then, there is no solid public transit, thus making mobility difficult, especially for a daily commuter or a student. Although Dubai South is already a rapidly growing community, it remains behind old-established neighbourhoods when it comes to lifestyle facilities.
This transitional period might not be to the taste of some people, particularly when you follow the convenience of fully established urban areas where everything should be at your front door.
Dubai South remains a huge work in progress, and that has its growing pains. Active construction sites expose people to noise, dust, and blocked construction. There are spots that are not fully landscaped to a finished product, or appear to be waiting to be full of houses and stores. Although this is an indication of future expansions, currently it can influence day-to-day lives- particularly the young families with little children or individuals who have low tolerance to noise. Dubai South may come across as a little too early, in case you want a perfect, fully developed environment right from day one.
Due to the fact that numerous projects are still at the stage of construction or have been finished recently, the area of Dubai South can feel empty or even abandoned in particular places.
